Stompin' Tom is one of the most famous and beloved figures in the history of Canadian popular culture. From the time he was a farm lad in Skinner's Pond, P.E.I., Stompin' Tom's heart has been dedicated to his heritage.
Since that time, he has used his voice to proclaim this heritage to all who would listen and in the process, earned himself The Officer's Medal in the Order Of Canada in 1996 and a Doctorate Of Laws from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Throughout his career, Stompin' Tom has sold in excess of 2 million albums in Canada. He also had a #1 best selling autobiography entitled, "Before The Fame" released in 1995 by Penguin Books Canada.
Stompin' Tom is now set to kick off a 38 city national tour starting up at the end of June until November. This is definitely the most extensive Canadian Tour of any artist this year and certainly the most extensive one that Tom has done this decade.
1998 is the year in which a whole new generation can discover Stompin' Tom via their stereos and their local venues. Now they can find out for themselves why this legend has been such an inspirational figure in Canadian music.
